The StatoilHydro - EGL partnership has awarded Tractebel Engineering Italy the Owner's Engineer contract for development support for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project.
The TAP (500 km) will transport natural gas from the Caspian region and the Middle East. The pipeline will run through Greece and Albania, cross the Adriatic Sea for 117 km and resurface in Apulia.
From southern Italy, it will continue towards the rest of Europe.
