LEME Engenharia acquires BC Projetos, a Brazilian engineering company
On May 13th, LEME Engenharia, subsidiary of Tractebel Engineering (SUEZ) in Brazil has finalized the acquisition of the Brazilian engineering company BC Projetos in Rio de Janeiro.
Being experts in the field of cogeneration installations, thermal power generation and energy optimization studies, BC Projectos designed the first combined cycle plant in Brasil. The company delivers services to several prominent customers such as Petrobras, Electrobras, Endesa, Alstom, Total, BP, Alcoa and Michelin. BC Projetos has a turnover of 7.5 Mio USD and employs 130 engineers and technicians.
With this acquisition Tractebel Engineering strengthens its technical competence base in Brasil as these BC Projetos experts in thermal power generation (gas, coal and biomass) will expand the competence base of LEME Engenharia which today is mainly oriented towards hydropower and power transmission networks.
Thanks to this acquisition, Tractebel Engineering will also strengthen its position in Latin America and enhance the conditions under which it will offer engineering services related to the construction of power plants. SUEZ Energy International in particular will benefit from this assistance to accompany their development projects in Latin America.
